My love for aviation began as a kid. I remember as young as five knowing the landing speed of a fully loaded Boeing 747-200. I would read everything I could about aviation.
When I turned 13, I was went to an aviation explorer post meeting sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America. That night a group of us not only founded the first aviation explorering post in the SF Bay Area, but I meeting my mentor and friend Solomon Adio. Solomon owned and ran the oldest black owned flight school the west side of the Mississippi. He saw something in me and within six months of going to explorer meetings, I was offered a weekend manager position. Solomon taught me everything from repairing airplanes, running a business, managing employees, contract negotiations, computer repair. My payment for all of this? Flight time!
By 17, I was a licensed pilot, and by 18 I was the full time manager of the school overseeing six airplanes.
Fast forward to today, I've been a licensed pilot for over 30 years, a certified instructor for fifteen years.
With all the ups and downs of the aviation industry, I have never had a bad moment. This has truly been one of the best careers I've been apart of.
I look forward to sharing my love of aviation with you and to help you obtain your goals of being a pilot. Whether your goals are corporate, commercial or just puting around the Bay Area on a weekend, I can help you with your goals.
