Whether you've recently purchased an aircraft, need it repositioned for maintenance, or simply need it relocated from one airport to another, Malone Aviation provides professional ferry pilot services with an emphasis on careful planning, safety, and communication throughout the trip.
Every ferry flight is different. Before accepting a trip, we'll discuss the aircraft, its condition and equipment, departure and destination airports, weather considerations, scheduling, and any other factors that could affect the flight.
Malone Aviation can assist with:
Newly purchased aircraft delivery
Aircraft relocation
Maintenance repositioning
Cross-country ferry flights
Owner relocation
Route and weather planning
Fuel and overnight planning
Coordination with aircraft owners, sellers, and maintenance facilities
When appropriate, flight instruction may also be available during an aircraft relocation, allowing an owner to gain experience and familiarity with a newly acquired aircraft while working with a flight instructor.
Moving an unfamiliar aircraft across the state or across the country requires more than simply getting in and flying it home.
Before departure, consideration is given to the aircraft's maintenance and inspection status, required documents, equipment, weather, route, fuel availability, airport suitability, and other operational factors that could affect the flight.
A ferry flight will not be rushed simply to meet a schedule.
Weather, aircraft condition, maintenance concerns, or other safety considerations may require a route change, delay, or cancellation.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the aircraft owner or customer is responsible for reasonable trip-related expenses, which may include:
Fuel
Oil
Oxygen, when required
Lodging
Ground transportation
Airline or other transportation required to reach or return from the aircraft
Other necessary expenses directly associated with completing the ferry flight
Specific expenses and payment arrangements will be discussed before the trip.

Any special circumstances involving the aircraft or trip
Aircraft must normally be airworthy and appropriately equipped for the proposed flight.
In some circumstances, an aircraft that does not currently meet all applicable airworthiness requirements may be eligible for an FAA Special Flight Permit—commonly called a “ferry permit”—if the aircraft is capable of safe flight.
When applicable, the aircraft owner will be responsible for obtaining any required FAA authorization and coordinating required inspections or maintenance before the flight.
Acceptance of any aircraft or ferry assignment remains subject to review of the aircraft, documentation, proposed route, operating conditions, and pilot qualifications required for that aircraft.
Ferry services are quoted individually because every trip is different.
The quote may be affected by:
Aircraft make, model, and complexity
Departure and destination
Estimated flight and travel time
Weather
Aircraft condition and maintenance status
Required stops
Schedule requirements
Multi-day trips
Unforeseen delays outside the pilot's control
